Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Planners parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
